$6 decision
I was appalled to learn today that the Godiva Store at Lenox Mall charges $6 for a chocolate-covered strawberry. It's ONE strawberry! Its about 1/2 oz of chocolate! The fact that people are willing to spend $6 (can anyone else out there tell me if that's higher than minimum wage?) on this item actually offends me.
SO--in venting my disgust at Godiva, I am going to post my short list of edibles that I would rather buy with my $6 ...
1) One fish taco, one veggie taco, and one carnita taco at Taqueria del Sol
2) The Caprese Salad at Figo
3) the chocolate bread pudding at The Flying Biscuit
4) A glass of the Bonny Doon Pacific Rim dry Riesling anywhere...
Please do the same in the comments! What would you spend your $6 on?

$6 = 1 huge Makers & Ginger at Loca Luna. Perhaps not a wisely spent $6, but oh well.
I'd spend my six dollars on Marietta's "Happy New Yorker" sandwich at Alon's and depending on what check out person you get, you could get a drink for your six bucks too....
$5.99 on the lunch menu at El Centanario in Venice FL-a pork platter with rice, avocado, lettuce and tomato. Two warm tortillas on the side-yum!
$6.00 ould buy you a jar of Nutella, some fresh fruit, a loaf of white bread, and a spoon (my personal favorite-but only when no one is looking!)
2.4 Budweisers @ 2.50 per or one very dry, Beefeaters Gibson martini at Foxes on Western Ave.
Unc Jack
Two gallons of unleaded to get back and forth from the restaurant

$6.00 would buy me a whole quart of fresh strawberries and enough chocolate to melt in my fondue maker at home, where I could add grand marnier for an extra zing and make my own Choc. covered Strawberries...that's how I roll. CGaskill
A egg, cheese and turkey sausage biscuit from pastries a go-go and a cup of coffee. If you're lucky you might even be able to throw in a fruit cup.
i thought of one more- the amazingly awesome chocolate cake from watershed- though that may be $8 and not $6
As an FYI... the current minimum wage is $5.15, though congress just passed a bill that was signed by W, that will raise minimum wage in several installments to $7.25 over two years.
Incidentally its the first minimum wage raise since 1997.
I'm proud to say that in 1993 I made $6.00/hour as a short order cook at Friendly's.
Sweet potato fries from the Vortex -- and the cinnamon sugar is free! Well, at $4.75, none of it's "free," but it still beats one scrawny strawberry.
A quarter pound of fresh ground sirloin grilled to a medium rare perfection topped with aged sharp cheddar, served with a side of cut-today russet fries. Topped off by a served-in-steel-shaker, chocolate malt. Served up daily at Top Notch Beefburgers on Chicago's great southwest side for $5.95. Or freshly caught lake perch fillets, dipped in Drakes beer batter and quick fried. Served with a light cobb salad on the beach at Glen Lake. $0.86 for the Drakes; coupla bucks for the salad the rest goes for drinks.
better late than never, i'm currently eating my favorite six dollar meal: cup of thai coconut soup and basil rolls from doc cheys...mmm

Call me weird......I know it's not "real" sushi...........but I'd have to say a Spicy Tuna roll and a Georgia on My Mind Roll (catfish and okra wrpped in rice and sesame seed) from Ru-San's Edgewood.
